How to find time signature in music1 min read
Reading Time: < 1 minutesThere are two ways to find the time signature in a piece of music. The first way is to look at the beginning of the piece of music and find a symbol that looks like this:
The second way is to listen to the music and find the location of a pulse. A pulse is a strong beat in the music that is easy to hear. Once you have found the pulse, count the number of beats in one measure. A measure is the length of time it takes to play one bar of music. The time signature is the number of beats in a measure.
Here is an example. The time signature in this piece is 3/4. This means that there are three beats in a measure and the quarter note is the beat. The pulse is easy to hear in the beginning of the song.
