Reading Time: < 1 minutesFacebook is a great platform for staying in touch with friends and family, but the site can also be quite noisy. If you want to turn off the sound on Facebook, there are a few different ways to do it.
The first way is to mute Facebook notifications on your computer. On a Mac, you can do this by going to System Preferences and selecting the Sound pane. Then, under the Output tab, you’ll see a list of applications that are currently making sound. To mute Facebook, select it from the list and click the Mute button.
If you’re using a PC, the process is a little different. First, open the Control Panel and select Sound. Then, under the Sounds tab, click the Program Events button. In the list that appears, find Facebook and click the Properties button. Under the Sounds tab, you’ll see a list of events that can trigger sound. To mute Facebook, simply select the event and click the Disable button.
The second way to mute Facebook is to disable notifications on your phone. To do this on an iPhone, open the Settings app and select Notifications. Scroll down and find Facebook, then turn off the Allow Notifications slider.
To disable Facebook notifications on an Android phone, open the Settings app and select Sound & notification. Under the App notifications section, find Facebook and turn off the Allow notifications slider.
Finally, you can also mute Facebook notifications in your browser. To do this, open Facebook and select the down arrow in the top-right corner. Select Settings and then Notification Settings. Under the Desktop notifications section, uncheck the box next to Show notifications.
No matter which method you choose, disabling Facebook notifications will help you to declutter your screen and minimize the noise.
