Now That’s What I Call Music! is a series of various artists compilation albums released in the United Kingdom by Sony Music and Universal Music, starting in 1983. The albums comprise popular music released in the past year by established and up-and-coming artists.

Now That’s What I Call Music! 50 was released on 10 November 2014 and features 50 songs, including "I’m Not the Only One" by Sam Smith, "All About That Bass" by Meghan Trainor, "Take Me to Church" by Hozier, and "Uptown Funk" by Mark Ronson featuring Bruno Mars.

The album debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart, selling over 134,000 copies in its first week. It became the fastest-selling album of 2014 in the UK, and has been certified Platinum by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) for shipments of over 600,000 copies.

Now That’s What I Call Music! 50 received mixed reviews from music critics. Some praised the album for its variety of genres and strong track list, while others criticized it for being unoriginal and not showcasing any groundbreaking new music.

Regardless, Now That’s What I Call Music! 50 was a commercial success and was the best-selling album in the UK for the month of November 2014. It has sold over 1 million copies in the UK as of March 2017.
