What is Music City?
Music City is the unofficial name for Nashville, Tennessee. The city is known for its country music and music industry.
Nashville was founded in 1779 and became the capital of Tennessee in 1817. The city’s music industry began to grow in the 1940s when major record labels such as RCA Records and Columbia Records opened offices there.
Today, Nashville is home to a number of music venues and recording studios. The city also hosts the annual CMA Music Festival and the Country Music Association Awards.
