Volume Adjustment

The first thing to check is your volume adjustment. AirPods have a maximum volume that is much louder than most other headphones. If you have the volume turned up all the way, it’s no wonder they’re too loud. Try turning the volume down a bit and see if that fixes the problem.

Noise Cancellation

Another possible reason for too-loud AirPods is noise cancellation. When noise cancellation is turned on, it amplifies the sound of the AirPods, making them much louder than they would be with it turned off. If you’re having trouble controlling the volume, try turning off noise cancellation.

Ear Placement

The way you place your AirPods in your ears can also affect the volume. If the ear tips are not inserted deeply enough, the sound will be louder. Make sure the ear tips are inserted all the way into your ear canal for the best sound quality and volume control.
